Roadmap

Blogpost #2: Roadmap

Hello again from Kaiju Gaming Lounge! In this article we wanted to go over what you should expect from us in the coming months, some of our current progress, and a cool thing or two that happened this week. Our plan is to have a bi-weekly/monthly update depending on milestones we achieve to keep people up to date.

Current Roadmap:

First and foremost: Entry into Store, Membership, and Day Passes

To not beat around the bush, our store is going to have a paid play space with a few entry methods. This sounds like a major point of contention, so we want to make it tremendously clear that we want people in our store benefitting from our entry methods. Beginning with our Day Passes, which is daily entry with a fixed cost, being as easy to achieve as possible while also supporting the store gets you access to a few membership benefits as well. Our membership idea is more than just access to the store: it's being a part of the store and the communities within. We want Memberships being more of a payoff for the customer than anything. Currently some of the offerings are: $1 off all snacks and sodas to a minimum of $1, reduced entry into scheduled events, membership events/milestones/raffles, and many more benefits. We want this post to make you excited to be a member of Kaiju Gaming Lounge.

Second on the block: Communities and our support of them

As stated in our membership roadmap and "Hello World" post, we will be supporting any and all communities that want to take up space within our shop. That being said, we also want to support these communities in more than just supplying their games and having tables. One of the many things we have on the docket is custom made life counters for your Warhammer/Magic/D&D/*Insert game here* made from our newly purchased Glowforge system. We will also be 3d printing and casting various pieces to enhance your experiences within whatever system, everything from life counters, to terrain, to even making your own custom bits for models.

Thirdsies: Kaiju Gaming Lounge

We can't go forward with the name Kaiju Gaming Lounge without an emphasis on having a play space with options for everyone to enjoy comfortably. We are going to go over our major furnishings and our general layout of the store. One of the most important aspects of our play space is to have plenty of options if you want to just come in and hang out. Do you want to just show up with a few friends to watch Jujutsu Kaisen on our awesome 80" 4k TV? We have couches, a sound bar, and a privacy wall to block out some of the external sounds from other gamers. Want to come in and read some manga from our library? Sure, we will have some best sellers and personal favorites on hand!

Go Fourth: Lightspeed, TCG, and Loyalty

Our Point of Sales systems are going to be pretty straightforward for our customers, but we will have a little bit of a non-standard system for our online store. In this post we want to go over our buying/selling of items including our in-store credit options. As an in-store customer nothing will be really that different from any other LGS. The main difference will be our use of TCGplayer Pro and their inventory system for managing online listings of trading cards. We will have the option for you to go through TCGPlayer to build your cart and choose in store pick up. We will go over all of this and more in our post in the coming months!

Revenge of the Fifth: Crowdfunding campaign

We plan on doing a crowdfunding campaign to have an additional boost of initial income to be able to provide the most prestigious gaming space Orlando has seen. We're still working on the specifics of our backer perks but somethings that we expect to put in there are custom membership cards, early bird rates of membership, custom cut/printed name plaques for the wall of early adopters, custom kaiju that may end up in one of our wall murals and much more. It's still a work in progress but the momentum is always building there hasn't been any stop in what we're doing.

Cool things to note for November:

Glowforge Achieved!

We just received a super awesome laser cutter! We have tons of plans for this thing so be on the lookout for next post. This was just us throwing our logo into the machine and letting it do its thing! SUPER COOL!

TT Combat huge supply!

TTCombat is a major supplier of MDF laser cut terrain. We have gotten in touch with their distribution and got a HUGE shipment of their terrain! In this shipment we have multiple Ork tables, the starts of a Necron Tomb World or two, multiple London Grand Tournament identical setups, and a TON more. Be on the lookout for the Taco Truck.

Lightspeed POS!

We have our Point of Sales purchased and are in the process of setting it up. There's about 4 weeks of webinars detailing all of the ins and outs of their system, needless to say, it's pretty awesome!

3D Printing!

We have been cranking away at 3D printed terrain as well! We are in the works of having a Dark Eldar/Dark Elf table finished within the week, a having a Chaos undivided table, a downed Imperial Cruiser 40k table, and a few other surprises to show off in the next post.

Podcast!

We are planning on having a pod cast in our store! We are going to sit down and discuss what is going on, changes, and we may interview members of the community if they wish to join and share what they think. We have a few ideas on names, and we're going to focus on wargaming content at first. We may expand the podcast to include other games and we might let members use the equipment. Our audio specialist friends gave us a list of equipment, and once we have everything we can get started!

A BIG THANK YOU!

A shout out to Collectible Squids, Gamerz R Us, Campus Cards and Games 2, and Nerd HQ for each offering to help us in their own ways. From helping us set up distributor accounts for various games and video games to general advice. We want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the support and love you've shown.
