 Blogpost #3: Membership and More!

Hey all! It has been a while since we have given an update so we wanted to detail out our membership, entry methods, and let you in on what we have been up to. We have hit a few of our milestones in the past couple of weeks, primarily being our website, some merch, and potentially finding a back up location. Lets make you excited to be a member of Kaiju Gaming Lounge!

Entry Methods:

    To not beat around the bush, our store is going to have a paid play space with a few entry methods. This sounds like a major point of contention, so we want to make it tremendously clear that we want people in our store benefitting from our entry methods. We have three main entry methods: Day Passes, Tournament Entry, and Membership. Before we go over our entry methods though we do want to make the small note, all entry methods will be purchasable with our Loyalty Point system. We are still hammering out the specific numbers for points but think of it working like "If I spend $10 at the store, I receive loyalty points I can redeem for benefits" those benefits can be Day Passes for you + friends, or even full memberships for the month.

Starting with the actual entry methods, a Day Pass, which is a daily fee (or sometimes no-fee!) with a minimal fixed cost. Our goal with a Day Pass is to be as easy to achieve as possible while also supporting the store and gives you access to most membership benefits as well. We want this method to be your stepping stone into the store if you are hesitant on going full membership. It is also worth noting, every new member to our loyalty program (no purchase required) gets one free Day Pass!

Tournament entry to scheduled events also grants you entry into the store however with none of the benefits from a Day Pass or Membership. For a lot of our customers we feel this will be the method will be their go-to. Lets say you show up at 12pm for your 6pm draft, sign up for the draft and pay, you are good for the entire day. If you are used to doing a weekly/monthly event such as a Magic the Gathering Modern Tournament, Warhammer Grand Tournament, or Smash Ultimate Weekly but don't typically go to stores on off days, your tournament entry will always have you covered.

Our membership idea is more than just access to the store: it's being a part of the store and the communities within. We want Memberships being more of a payoff for the customer than anything. Currently some of the offerings are: a flat rate off all snacks and sodas, percentage off most merchandise in the store, reduced entry into scheduled events, membership events/milestones/raffles, and many more benefits. We don't want to spoil everything just yet but believe us when we say it's going to be AWESOME!

Lets do a couple of examples of customers entering our store:

1.  Aaron visits the store regularly for Friday Night Magic purchasing his draft entry, allowing him to enter the store freely. While in the store he purchases drinks, snacks, and packs after his draft accumulating loyalty points. This week he wants to skip the draft this week because he wants to play commander with an out of town friends. He has 15 loyalty points and decides to redeem them for a 2 point redemption tier for "Day Pass for you and up to 3 friends." Aaron and his 3 friends are all welcome, get full benefits of the Day Passes including discounted snacks and products, their day is unchanged and they paid nothing to enter the store.
2.  Mark is a major tournament grinder for Age of Sigmar and new to the area. He heard we do Warhammer Grand Tournaments every quarter and signs up for one. The day of his tournament he purchases his ticket and gets to play in the store for the entire day, even after the tournament ends.
3.  Ian has never been to Kaiju Gaming Lounge, heard there was paid entry, and was immediately against visiting the store. Ian decides to come check out the store to see what its all about. Ian's  informed that his first visit always includes a free Day Pass when he enrolls in the loyalty program. Ian gets full Day Pass benefits without spending any money and enters into a draft at the same rate as full members saving him money on the draft since its his first visit.

We want this to feel like a club, like there is a sense of belonging and community with Kaiju Gaming Lounge. We want your voice to be heard.

www.kaijugaminglounge.com Our site is live! It is still a work in progress but it's been small milestone after small milestone. Our point of sale is directly connected to the website and it is a new system for all of us in. The system for making the website has been a bit tricky in identifying everything to change fonts, colors, and content placement, but we are getting the hang of it.

We are making listings for everything we plan on carrying but it is a slow process almost every week there will be new items listed. We are also getting our own products on the site which is another exciting thing we have been working on!

Partnership - Collectible Squids:

Through working together we decided to partner up and open a store together! But what does this exactly mean for those who have been following Kaiju Gaming Lounge's journey so far? ONLY GOOD NEWS! It means we'll have an easier time with almost everything from opening doors, to getting distributors and acquiring product things will be a bit easier on us from the get go. This partnership does nothing to change either of our business models but helps both of us out immensely with our current goals. Crowd Funding:

We are working on finalizing our location and getting our store open! We have most of the capital to open the doors with product, tables, and chairs but not quite enough to stabilize immediately after all the expenses so we are planning a crowd funding campaign. There will be more to come but for now know that we're planning some epic rewards that we can not wait to share with you. 

Kaiju Merch:

We have been hard at work making all sorts of gaming accessories! Mainly movement trays, measuring sticks, and various templates for movement. We are also in the process of making trophies for our larger events, we would love to provide unique trophies for the various winners!
